I've been toying with the idea of getting a dive computer (I know, time to get with the times!). I wasn't considering air integrated computers at all, but I've seen some pretty good deals which make them only slightly more expensive than the non-AI computers I was looking at. So, I was mainly considering Oceanic Datamax PP2 or Aeris Atmos AI, which I guess are pretty much the same thing with a slightly different look and feel. Then I saw an Aeris Elite w/ transmitter for only $10 more than the Atmos AI...pretty good deal, but...what's this T3? It appears the Elite is an older version, and the T3 is basically the wireless version of the Atmos AI. Right? However I can't tell the difference between the Elite and the Elite T3, save for the fact that the T3 can check your buddy's pressure if he has the same transmitter. Is that it? What am I missing out on if I go with the non-T3 unit? I can't find a direct comparison anywhere.

TIA,
jds

The Elite is a discontinued model. Looking up some older info it doesnt' look like it comes with the download module, it was available as a seperate item. It looks like it will only read from on transmitter.

The Elite T3 comes with the download module as standard, it will allow the diver to use up to three transmitters for either himself or a buddy. I personally use the Epic, and my GF uses the elite T3. The T3 is a very nice computer.

That is correct. The Elite is essentially the Elite T3 sans the transmitter. You can purchase the T3 without the transmitter and have basically the same thing. It functions fantastically as a stand-alone dive computer.

It's biggest attributes being a common sensical layout of information and easy to see color coded bar graphs for your nitrogen/O2 loading-remaining bottom time and your ascent rate.

Do you mean the ability to read 3 different transmitters? Because I'm seeing the Elite offered with a transmitter.

When you say, "download module" do you mean the download cable? If so, I think I paid $50.00 more for it at Scubatoys when I bought the Elite. I am very happy with the computer and have no regrets. The download cable is a must for me. The wrist unit will not display the starting pressure in LOG MODE so you need to record it right away if you keep a logbook. The download cable will display the starting pressure when downloaded so you can fill out the logbook later.
