and by far and away the best one so far. I love the facts that I can switch PO2 from 1.6 to 1.4, the large readout, the air consumption rate feature, and the safety stop countdown timer. I highly recommend this unit.

what is the diference btw "turn pressure alarm" and "end pressure alarm"?
I'd imagine you can program a pressure where you want to head to the point of egress (anchor point, turn back to shore, etc), and end pressure is the pressure you'd set where you want to make direct ascent. That's my guess :)

Thats exactly correct.

I am surprised to read only good reviews on the Atmos AI. I hope my experiences are the exception and that we have lemon units.
We would sure like to hear some more feedback on the units before we use ours for expensive paper weights!

We bought two Atmos AI's this past May- a "his and "hers". Both units have been used the exact same number of dives and to almost the exact same dive profiles. We have had problems with both. On the first get to know your computer dives to very shallow depths(30 feet) we had no problems with the computers. On the next for "real" dive trip where we dove many repetitive dives, we had a glitch with one that affected the dive mode display. After the 3rd or 4th dive, the computer went to the air time remaining mode and would not display dive time remaining. It basically froze in the air time remaining mode even though you just started your dive and you tried to advance the display buttons back to the main dive mode display.

Air time remaining may be a nice feature but that is only useful to me towards the end of a dive not the first phase when deco limits are critical at 100 feet plus depths or when nitrogen loading starts to add up on repetitive dives. We sent them back to Aeris who found nothing wrong with the computers.

We just got back from another repetitive dive trip and the same problem occured as before but now with the other one, the computer did not convert to surface mode for 2 dives so it assumed we were still on our dive for 2 hours of surface time thus it added the surface time to our dive time. That had a serious affect on our bottom time for our remaining dives of that day.

Are we the lone rangers here or has anyone else experienced these types of problems?

or no deco time remaining by whichever is most critical at that moment. For example you may have 4 hours of no deco time on a 35fsw dive but only 1.5 hours of air the computer will show air time remaining. Now if you go deep and have 10 min no deco time and 35 min air time it will show no-deco time. Mine has never stayed in dive mode while on the surface and I think it's possible you may be misreading the display in that regard.

Sorry, did not see your reply before I started a new thread about the same problem. I understand and do not dissagree with your explanation but my computer will not allow me to switch back and forth between the two dive mode dispays during a dive. The air tank icon never left the screen. Even though one bit of information may be more critical than the other at a particular point of a dive, shouldn't both bits of info be available?

As to the surface dive mode problem, the dive log booked a 1:49 minute dive with an 80 foot profile on one tank. The dive lasted about 38 minutes! On the other dive it logged 50 min of surface time to the actual dive time before it figured out we were sitting on a boat!

a problem if that is the case. Did the second AI do the same thing? If so you should probably get replacement units. Have you contacted the aeris folks with specific details about the problem? They are REALLY good about fixing that kind of stuff. I'm sure thay can download the dives and see the problem.
