Hi all,

Needed some advice from people who own these two sets of fins. I have some Dive Rite XT fins that I use for warm water diving. I mainly dive in the Red Sea, 1-2 trips a year, but I am planning a liveaboard next year and also some dives in East Asia (Malaysia or nearby). I have been given a great deal on some RK3 HDs.

The question is, are the Dive Rite XT's or Apeks RK3 HD's better for warm water diving? The RK3 HDs are designed to be more negatively buoyant, but have you found that this affects your trim or fatigue when using them in warm water dives?

Any advice on which is better to use between these two fins?

Thanks!

The Dive Rite XT fins have been my warm water fins for the last 15 years or so. I own several pair. Given that all I do these days is warm water diving, these are the only fins I use. I cannot comment on the Apeks RK3 HDs. I actually have no clue what those are, how they compare or even what they look like.

The DR XT fins have been very popular for a very long time here in the US. I see multiple pair on just about every charter here in South Florida. Just a data point for you to consider.
