If you want to do cold water diving, I would stay away from piston regs and go for a sealed diaphragm. I am not sure if ATX 40 is sealed but I think their sealed models begin from XTX-50 and up.

the atx40 usually comes with a DST or DS4 first stage that is sealed.

The enclosed picture show a DST but the text said it is DS4!!!!
