Too lazy for the search option. Looking to purchase a wetsuit for cold water diving in the Northeast. I had to trash my old 7mm scubapro that was literally falling apart. It saw some really low temps in the winter <40F and served me well. Looking for a similar replacement. Hoping to dive Dutch Springs in the near future (it's been a while) then move into the salty stuff. :)

....and started searching....which has led me straight into dry suits....hmmmm....

I just realized I missed the summer.:(

I would suggest spend the extra money and purchase a drysuit, any water cold enough for a 7mm wet suit is well into the drysuit range.

my 7mm has been replaced with a drysuit - much better esp @ ~70 degrees or less.
wet is for something above 80 degrees imho :)

As others offered and you probably already realize those conditions are best enjoyed in a drysuit, but that's nnot what you asked.

I'm fond of the Bare full density fullsuits like the Sport (old Arctic) paired with the hooded step-in shorty. See here.

This page amy have information that also helps.

Thanks Pete! I've been away for some time. That Bare Sport looks good and the price is right. Already own a Bare Hooded step in (may need to be replaced) as well as a skin for underneath. I like the site! Great info! Can't wait to get back in the water.:)

I would also agree with the Dry Suit option. But if you really want to get into a great wet suit then I would recommend anything from Pinnacle in a 7mm in the merino-elastiprene options. I have one and can dive it well into November. I dive the north shore in MA. I also dive dry but the suit is warm enough that I could if I chose.

That being said, if you keep your eye's out here or on other boards you can come across a few screaming deals on a used Dry Suit. If you want new then you can get something like the DUI TLS350 SE in the $1100.00 range from most dive shops. If that is still too much then look around at scubatoys and leisurepro. You can often find new DS in the $700-$800 range.

Good luck with your search.
