Add a vest over or under full suit?

I have used a hooded vest before and it seems to fit fine underneath my full suit. Especially helpful in places like Bonne Terre. For most over the suit versions I would think you want to use a farmer John setup because it's designed size-wise to fit over a full suit. Just my opinion though.
