Just been reading about how scientists now think this reef is twice as large as previously thought:

It will be really scary when they say they find a reef off the coast of Maine growing twice as large. Then we'll have to rethink our theories on the global warming thing.

I would guess that while one reef is growing, probably more than half if not more are shrinking. That growing "dead zone" off the southeast coast of the US is scary is heck for me. And it surely isn't shrinking.
