Anyone have any experience with Aaron's Dive Shop? http://www.hawaii-scuba.com A friend of mine use to DM for them and says they're a good operation, but then that's a biassed opinion.

if an ex-employee still endorses them... that's usually a good sign! :)

The only question is how long ago did he work for them?

I haven't heard anything bad about them as an overall op. But like everywhere else, they're not immune to staff turnover and bad days and so your spot mileage can vary. Aaron's does have a very long history, over 30yrs; I think only South Seas Aquatics and Aloha Dive Shop are in the same league for longevity, at least in name if not ownership. I've been told that Jack Aaron is also behind Jack's Diving Locker in Kailua-Kona and that he's also the 'Jac' in Bojac's Aquatics Center, another old shop which pretty much fell apart after co-founder Bob Hoffman(?) sold it and closed the Waipahu location.

Aarons dive shop are pretty established in Hawaii, although I never dealt with them while I worked in honolulu, they came well recommended.

Why the thumbs down for Aaron's dive shop if you don't even tell us why you think they deserve public negativity through this forum? I have never used Aaron's dive shop, but I have heard from one person that they are a good shop.
