All,

I have done a significant amount of research on buying this camera for both land/sea use. I read much about the E18 error and the possible pending lawsuit. My question here is this, how often does it happen? Has anyone had the problem and has Canon taken care of it to your satisfaction? I still have an S100 and have never had any problems with it. I would like to buy a Canon but…

I am also looking for a “B” choice, Nikon or Sony?

Thanks very much guys,

Dave

This is what ive read so far about the e-18 error
its just not the a620 it seams is all the a model camers
and sd cameras also
i realy like the a620 for what it does but im afraid to buy one my self
it gets fantastic reviews untell the e-18 error
i seen a couple posts that if you turn it off and hook it up to a video sorse and turn it on that will bring it back
i guess i am over thinking the whole situation
with as many cameras there selling thays going to be some break downs
and the only ones you will here about are the ones p[osted and reposted
well good luck with your search
im kinda waiting to see how the olympus sp320 is going to be its due out in a month or 2

That looks like a nice camera, and it has raw mode as well.
It has a 2.5" screen but only uses 2 batteries? sounds like I wil be replacing batteries quicker than I know.

The turn off for me is that it doesn't use the SD disc technology. What is with Olympus and Sony that they need their own disc. It is a real turn off for me.
