Ok, I feel the need to rant.

Here in Blighty there has been a fair amount in the press - diving and otherwise- about people pulling bits off wrecks, not just removing loose items but actually crowbaring stuff off with dive knives on protected wrecks to.

If any of you crowbar junkies are out there reading this BLOODY WELL PACK IT IN!
(the crowbaring not the reading)

1. Are you so fundamentally selfish that you would pull stuff off a wreck to stick on your mantlepiece so that no else can see it?

2. Artefacts are much more interesting and informative in situ.

3. Protected wrecks are protected for a reason.

4. some man made materials pulled out of sea water after lying there for a long time and not treated properly can explode.

5. You are destroying the possibility for any serious study of the wreck.

6. Its not yours SO LEAVE IT ALONE!
Love and Peace to all
