A peeve but an important one - 20m is NOT 60ft!

I don't mind so much the depth rounding but whenever I go to the Caribbean and ask for Y KG and they give me 2 x Y LB that just doesn't work! :depressed:

Wait... You ask for what, 3kgs and expect 6.6lbs?

2 3's then shave the rest from a block of lead? :rofl3:

and my "formula" to keep a rough crasp of temperature ...

28c = 82f (reverse the numbers)

Great formula! Let me give it a try...

So if the water in Bonaire is 28°C in the summer, that's like 82°F. But in the winter the water cools a bit, down to like 23°C, which would be "roughly" 32°F, right?

Hmmm? I think a random number generator would be as useful a conversion tool.

:D

I'll stick with my Quintal's and Pounce's if you don't mind...

I prefer Smoots, thank you very much...so long as you don't need accuracy better than one ear.

Who cares about the metric system? Anyone of importance uses Imperial units anyway.

Give the metric system an inch and it will take a mile. I wouldn't even let it get a foot in the door. No one talks metric in my yard.

The metric system was invented for sissies who have to do math by calculator and moving decimal points back and forth and can't handle fractions! :mooner:

yeah, that's why formula is in quotes, and I said my formula :)
.... It's quite a drawback in working for only one figure and having to extrapolate from there, but at least it gives me a handle .. you should see how many people that just throw up there hands

Oh, my handle for distance is 100kph = 60mph or 100 kilometers = 60 miles :)

BrotherBear .. thats funny right there

To the OP, if this is the case, you need to use the conversion of 2.54 cm = 1 inch......

For converting meters, note that 39 inches = 3 feet 3 inches = 3.25 feet. So 20 meters = 60 feet plus 60 inches which equals 65 feet. Or 20 meters equals 60 feet plus 20/4 feet which equals 65 feet. You may find one or the other of these easier to remember.

If I'm wearing a 3mm and an AL80, I'm 185lbs and fairly fit, how many stones to I need to be properly weight?

They are all pretty skinny, but I'd say you could get by with just Ronnie and Charlie...

Here is a helpful guide for learning how to convert between imperial and metric, and fahrenheit and centigrade:

45c for a Dubai heatwave?

That's quite a cool day in the summer..........try closer to mid 50's

My next dive computer will be capable of working in cubits.
