I know that it is neither particularly ground breaking DIY nor impressive but it is the first proper DIY job I've done on my dive gear and I feel like showing off my work a bit.

A month or two ago I left my dive knife above the rinse bucket and walked off. Suffice to say that a few hour later when I realised this it was gone and no-one had seen it. :shakehead:

Still, I didn't feel bad because it was a steak-knife-special. R50 (~$5) later I had 6 steak knives and after a few minutes with a borrowed angle grinder and polisher I had a set of new dive knives! After you factor in the cost of the coke I used to passivate my finished knives I figure my finished dive knife came to about $1.50.
