ScubaBoard has always been filled with questions, answers, suggestions, ideas, and entertaining repartee. OK, there is also little bickering but there can be useful information imbedded there as well. The challenge is finding the information you want within our nearly 500 forums, almost 575,000 threads, and over 8 million posts.
We are testing a concept that might help. A thread consisting of links to threads and posts that members find useful. The subject is currently limited to information on parts and references to repair, modify, and and maintain diving gear. See Index: Dive Gear Parts & Tools
It works like this: Members reply in the thread to suggest posts with related information they find useful or include information they want to contribute. ScubaBoard Staff members will monitor these replies and add links to the Index.
We understand that there is a potential for this index to grow quite large so there are headings and key words you can search for. We can also expand the index by adding pages with the proper timestamps. Suggestions are welcome. Currently @rsingler and @Akimbo are managing the project.
There is potential for the "Index" concept to be applied to other subjects if this experiment proves successful. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
