Very cool GSB and Electric Ray encounter! Really like #5 wide.
 
Interesting to see the fresh garibaldi nest without eggs. The garibaldi in the region from Long Point to the East End mostly finished mating by now since water temps in that area were warm enough (about 59 F) for it much earlier in the season. I noticed that out on the oil rigs there were fresh nests, most likely due to the colder water there. Field guides often assume an earlier mating season, probably based on some of the definitive garibaldi studies off Catalina by people like Paul Sikkel.
