Unknown 9 divers went missing in Palau and were rescued after 24 hours

Not the first time something like this has happened in Palau, about 30 years ago (cannot remember the exact year), quite a few died on the one dive. Some survived for days as when found, they had written things on a slate about seeing rescue boats/planes.

These divers were very lucky to have been found.
 
I would be so anxious drifting out of sight of my boat for an hour. It'd be challenging to keep my senses for 24 hours plus thirst. :(
 
I'm calling BS on 25 hours adrift. Look at the video. Looks like they've been drifting for 2.5 hours, not 25 hours. They're climbing on board with tanks on, smiling, laughing and ready for a night on the town. Come on.

You're right. I remember that incident. A group of Japanese divers who got blown off Peleliu when the dive boat driver (who claimed he couldn't get the motor started but I suspect just fell asleep) couldn't manage the pick up and didn't send a distress call for hours. One of the Japanese women wrote notes of the ordeal as long as she lasted-a few days. I've carried a PLB since.
