Help sought!

I bought the 8080 last year, only to have a major disaster and wreck it. Fortunately the insurance paid up.

So I bought a replacement and thought about a 6Gb card. Instead, I bought an iPod 60Gb Photo, which the salesman confidently told me would be able to download my photos direct from the camer AND store my music fot thos boring SIs.

I'm sure it's possible, but I'm equally sure some connector is required - anyone tried this?

Thanks,

It does work. Get the little adaptor mentioned above. You just connect the two and tell the iPod to import pictures.

My only minor complaint is that using a small screen as the camera and the iPod has you might save stuff that would be tossed. Of course that can alway wait until you get home after listening to music or an audio book on the iPod on the way.......:D

Sorry, just checking - that IS compatible with the 8080, is it? Doesn't list the 8080 on the iPod camera connector compatibility list.

Thanks for the help, guys!

interesting... just got a hand me down ipod photo 60gb over the holidays... now the question I have is would it download RAW files (just storage not being able to view the RAW files)? I see my camera (canon S70) is on the list. It would lighten my load a bit not to take my laptop around with me all the time.

Good question. I have the C-7070. They are similar, but I couldn't say for sure.

Not bumping my own thread, but for anyone who's interested, I bought the camera connector advertised in the above link.

Works a treat - no hassle at all. Plug adaptor into iPod, camera cable into adaptor, camera cable into camera. Turn on iPod, turn on camera and you're in business. Software is a doddle to work - common sense only required.

Good stuff for liveaboards when you could do without the laptop...

Cheers,

But just a question...can you then upload from the Ipod to your laptop or computer your pictures...this may be a good set up for me as well.

Larry - good to hear. I might have to stop by wanchai computer center today at lunch to pick one up.

scubak - I'm pretty sure you can (wouldn't make sense for apple to allow you to download pics into the ipod and not let you upload them to your PC/mac) but then I don't use the Itunes program (sorry just can't stand that program). I use a 3rd-party software called Anapod which let's you drag n drop files back n forth between the photo ipod and PC and the ipod shows up like any other flash card drive.

Oh! Well that is good to hear. I may have to check this setup out. And how is the 3rd party program? Is that working? I really hate to be tied into a "program" such as the one that comes with Oly cameras, etc...guess I like to have choices.
Thanks. Will check it out.
