That won't keep you from breaking a bulb. Get a beer cozy and be careful and save $24.50. And always carry a spare bulb ;)

You would not believe how hard it is to find a Beer Cozy or Koozy around here! I have been to every Liquor Store, Longs Cost Plus, Super Markets, Beverages and More you name it! I can't believe I have to go online to shop for a beer holder! It's actually really surprising that Halcyon, Dive Rite or others would'nt make something. Ya know?

I feel your pain :)

The worse place for breakage I've seen is when you have your equipment put together and setup on a boat. You have the lighthead clipped to your shoulder d-ring (minus cozy) and somebody comes along and swings their butt into it and smacks it against the side of the boat. Bubble wrap is your friend in this case, as you can have it wrapped around the lighthead and take it off just prior to jumping off the boat. Plus, if it gets lost, you have more in your bag.

If you can't find a good cozy, get a small insulated lunch type zippered case. Cut a slot in one end for the cord, wrap the lighthead in bubblewrap and put it in the case and zip it up.

Thanks! I'll do that.

I had trouble finding one, but I did end up finding one in the Marine section of a department store. It was being sold as a floating boat cooler.

Try Otter bat wetsuits next time you are in Monterey, they wiill give you one as advertising...

I bought one of those 5th D covers recently because I was paraniod about breaking the tube/bulb.
While it is all that it says it is...I just don't think it offers the protection that I'm going to need.
I'm more apt to drop or bang my light head than to have something ram inside of it to break the bulb.
YMMV
PS finding them drink holders is a real *****

I got one of those Otter Bay Holders but there is no bottom to them so I'm riggn' one up with some Aqua Seal.

The Guy at Extreme Exposure told me that Hooters has the best Koozy's because they are made out of Life Vest material and foam. Crazy huh?
