I've been planning this day for a year. My 50th Birthday fell on a Saturday, so I hoped to get in a spectacular dive at Marineland, my favorite shore dive site. Seven weeks ago I broke my left foot and I was hoping it would heal in time. My podiatrist told me yesterday to put the boot back on for another couple of weeks. Bummer. It turned out to be a non-issue, as the conditions were less than hospitable this morning. Most of the regulars stayed topside, but three souls attempted a dive. They were rewarded with bad visibility, surge, and a dangerous exit. Sometimes you just have to say no. Evil Jeff Shaw and his Quintet performed an original song for me, and even the Overstreet Clan, Ross, Beth and Mia made a rare appearance. It was a great way to end my first half century. Thatnks to everyone involved in the subterfuge for surprising me.

Happy Birthday!!!!!

Happy B-Day Phil! Here's to your 2nd half Century being filled with as many awe inspiring aquatic adventures as the first.

BTW....I'm significantly past the 50 mark

Phil, sorry the diving didn't materialize to celebrate your birthday. At 50 you're just a young whippersnapper. I can't even remember when I was 50!
