I use 5 mm gloves and can use my camera buttons and controls with them on. You will be able to move your fingers just fine.

I found in So Cal my hands and fingers stay a lot warmer with 5mm gloves compared to 3mm. My fingers are pretty spastic in 5mm gloves, but they're pretty spastic without gloves too, so I don't think it's a neoprene thickness issue. I've pushed camera buttons with 5mm gloves without problem. Most dive boats have some kind of hot tub or hot water, so you should be able to get your hands warmed up before and after each dive

I use Kevlar palmed 3mm....The only time my hands get cold is when I get deep enought for the suit to compress and i dont re-tighten the wrist strap. Then the water flows in and out and cant heat up. Keep your core warm and the rest will follow. Buy Quality it will pay off.....
