anyone heard about the new 350D?

guy in my local shop said it was a cut down version of the 20D

Check details at www.dpreview.com
They have a preview of the camera and some test shot examples. It looks very nice.
I has a different sensor to the 20D only 8mp not 8.2mp, Plastic body, probably a few less features but also less of hit on the hip pocket.

I have read some of the information available on this camera. I was intrigued when it was announced. After talking with a few people, I am in more of a wait and see mode. It seems like it incorporates a lot of the features of the 20D at a price that is low enough to allow you to buy an extra lens. On the other hand, the body is really the least of your worries when moving to a DLSR. It is the lenses and the ports that are going to get you.

I was a bit disappointed that Nikon didn't announce anything to compete with the 20D. I like the lower ISO of the 20D and the extra mega-pixels over the D70. I like the glass choice of the D70 a bit better. One other camera to think about is the Olympus E-300. I am looking forward to Ike getting his housing on the streets and seeing how it does underwater.

There are more and more choices....but it also makes the decision that much harder. As I have said before, if I had to put my money on the table tonight, I would probably still buy the 20D. But if you ask me in a couple of weeks, after evaluating some of the new developments, I might change my mind. :D
