3 dives a day, 60-70 minutes down ... which dive op?

Greetings folks -

I guess the title says it all ... only been to Coz once, five years back. Just discovered we have time to do a late April-early May trip, so thought we'd head back there. We have a real hard time paying to fly somewhere and then only dive 2 tanks a day and come up with 1200-1400 PSI. So, the question, what dive op(s) in Cozumel will do real live 3-tank trips, and allow you to burn your air on a long dive? Any suggestions?

Can't help you with 3 tanks a day, but Dive House (Fiesta Americana) allow you to come up in buddy pairs. When we were there, the first pair went up at around 25 minutes and the last between 60 and 70 minutes. They only sent me up one time before I hit 700 PSI - over an hour into the second dive of the day.

The dives included in our trip were two tank dives (although shore diving was unlimited and decent) and other dives were available for an extra fee on some days.

Scuba Club Cozumel's on site dive house has the same arrangement.

Bottom Time Divers Small 6 pack fast boat, dive computer and air. Will do 2 tanks in morning and 1 or 2 in pm minimum of 2 divers. Also keep, rinse, dry, and set up for next day. You don't lug all that gear.

Goes slow underwater to conserve body movement extending bottom times. I do 70 min on al80 easy with 500-700 at end. Ask for added price for larger tank---maybe 5-$10 for al100 you may need it if you go deep. Still cheaper than steel tank ops.

Sorry, but I don't recall if either operator offers a 3-tank dive outing. Both are premium operators that I hope to experience again in the future.

Bottom Time DiversAsk for added price for larger tank---maybe 5-$10 for al100 you may need it if you go deep.

Fiesta Americana add on for AL100 was $8/tank. We were getting over an hour on the second dive each day out of the AL80s.

most dive ops offer both morning and afternoon dives, wouldn't that give you 4 tanks a day?

then you could add a night dive trip and bump it up to 6 tanks!!

I dive with Blue XT-Sea, and everyone gets to surface when they're ready... have never had to finish a dive based on what some other diver's air consumption is like.

It never hurts to just contact the dive shops you're interested in and ask the questions you have. Contact Blue XT-Sea at: Cozumel Diving: Blue XT SEA Diving, Cozumel Mexico

Tell them you'd particularly like to get in some 3-tank dives. They're very accommodating, and will work to get you what you need, even if it means hunting down another diver who wants to get in some additional dives, too.

Another vote for Bottom Time Divers. He actually champions extended bottom times as the feature that sets his operation apart from the rest.

BlueXT~Seadiving Cozumel Diving: Blue XT SEA Diving, Cozumel Mexico ...would be just perfect for what you are looking for...small fast boats....you can arrange for 3 or 4 tank dives...lots of personal service Christi will keep and rinse your gear and have it on the boat ready to go the next day....except for wetsuits....snacks, water, juice, windbreakers, towels on board to make your SI enjoyable....I have used this op for several years and I find that for me Christi offers everything I need in a dive op....her crew is top notch excellant boat captains and DM's Pedro can find more cool stuff....he showed me my first redlipped batfish....and those buggers are hard to find....

I would also recommend Raul at Bottom Time.

I contracted with an operator that advertised 3 tank dives and found that each dive was on shallow reefs and only 35-40 minute bottom times. I was not particularly good on air but still had 1000 psi left.

I remembered another members post about Raul and contacted him. He had room on his boat and off we went. Well the first dive was 90' multi-level and I did 50min. On the second dive Raul worked with me and got me breathing a bit better, 50' for 60 min.
Next day first dive was 85' and with Raul's instruction and slow pace we saw many things others just swim right over and I did 65 min. Second dive was 50' and a great 75 min. We dove to the extent of our computers no deco time and thats great. I still had 600 psi after that dive so plenty of spare in case of deco.

I cannot thank him enough for taking the time to help me. Also just because someone has great ads or deals doesn't mean you get your money's worth.

BTW first day with Raul he gave me AL100's but the second day was AL80's
