We plan to rent a car tomorrow and drive around with our gear in the hopes of finding some good spots. We will stop in at a Dive shop and hopefully find a map bt figured we would see if anyone has some faves they can throw out and rent some tanks.

We do plan to check out the diving next to the Cracked Conch as we heard its great.

Thanks in advance!

Go to Sunset House. Its South here's a link to how to get there. They rent tanks right there. There's a sea pool you can enter from or the ladders if you like. They dive is out to the statue of the Mermaid, then just past that is the wreck of the Nicholson, and just past that is the wall. Awesome dive. I've done it five times, if you're into photography it's a GREAT photo op! Enjoy

Go to Sundivers at the Cracked Conch. A great dive and they even use full sized tanks:D

The very best shore dives IMHO are on the North East Coast (Babylon and Anchor Point) but they are a long drive and a bit of an adventure.

:multi:eek:h oh oh.... and Eden Rock is a great twighlight dive. Nice swin throughs, lots of critters. It's on the way to Sunset House. Just south of Georgetown. During the day you can get tanks there too.

1. Off Moon Bay condos, Pease Bay.
2. Spotter Bay, NE point.
3. Off Pedro Castle.

It's been years but...
I agree with the previous posters. Cracked Conch for the shallows & wall. Plus the restaurant.
Sunset House - set up camp and shore dive all day. Plus the restaurant ("My Bar"?)
Eden Rock for quick access to those canyons and swim throughs.
(nipi sounds like he may know the non-standard tourist sites.)

Nipi may ask where is there access at Pedro's castle? I have sat at Durty Reids a few times and looked at the iron shore and thought what a dive this would be.Now you have me ready to try it.

Thanks

From Reids walk west along the path towards the bay. Before the path leaves the grass turn left onto the ironshore & go down to the cliffs. You will see a ledge which is where you enter & exit. Ther used to be a handy pin in the ledge put there by the BSAC Club for exiting to tie a rope to but Ivan took it ... Best entry is a jump off the cliff. You can see the marker about 10 degrees left of straight off the ledge. Descend before the marker & there are lots of tunnels & swim throughs that will get you out onto the wall. There's also a shallow site marker in the middle of the bay.

Or go down to the cliffs from Reids carpark jump in there & exit at the ledge.

If anyone is not happy with this sort of entry/exit please do not attempt except on dead flat days - people have drowned not being able to get out once in.

Another easy shore dive is from the beach at Smith's Cove. The park is about a mile(?) past Sunset House.

There's no tank rental there, but it's a public park so no worries about trespassing to get to the water. Super easy beach entry, just wade out. If I remember right it's about 100 yards to the reef.
