Hey guys we dove Lighthouse Point today, shoredive with the Divetech booth.

Those people were great and the diving was EXCELLENT! Tomorrow morning we are going to hit Cracked COnch and do a couple of tanks there. Those will be out last for the trip.

I did not know it but a guy just died at the Cracked Conch dive the other day, I guess he left his group and headed to the surface, they let him go alone! Anyway, they never saw him again. 3 days later they found his body. Kinda crazy. And sad.

Anyway Sundivers in the morning and possibly hit up Divetech again. Cant beat $12 dives! I still cant get over the fact that shore Diving there has been better than my boat dives thusfar. I cant express enough that the shorediving at Lighthouse (Divetech) is really REALLY enjoyable. Shallow or deep. Its also only about 1/2 mile down from the Turtle dive at Cracked Conch.

agree on Sunset House...also, have to get Devil's Grotto/Eden's Rock in........Also, years ago, Turtle Farm made for a good little shore dive---huge midnight blue parrots were there in the 90's.....

Dove Sunset house today. Was going to do Turtle farm but it was just too rough on the surface up there. So we drove down to Sunset.

Good dives, not nearly as good as the Lighthouse Point but still enjoyable. Glad we got to see the mermaid.

I really like Babylon Wall. I think it is comparable to many boat dives on the wall. It is a pretty easy snorkel out about 200 yards to the top of the reef and a little further to the edge. Reserve your air on the way out and carry a compass for the trip back. You will need booties or some foot protection to walk out deep enough to swim. Eden Rock is a nice shake down dive particularly if you have some divers along who are a bit dry. The turtle farm area is also decent and easily accessible for night dives.

I agree with the shore dive from the Cracked Conch with Sindivers.com. Here's a tip, go to Caymanactivityguide.com and join (it's free:)). CAG has a great amount of info specific to the Cayman Islands. Once you've joined, you can then get a coupon for a tank rental, cocktails and snack at Sundivers / Cracked Conch's bar for a great price!

1) Eden Rock reef when crusie ships are not in port
2) Cobalt Coast Dive Resort - Sea Fan Reef
3) Lighthouse Point (new site opened 11/07 by Divetech)
4) Spanish Bay Reef
5) Smith Cove Park - Horseshoe Reef

I dove with divetech previously, but am coming back to GC by cruise ship and wont have time to go out with their boats. They suggested a shore dive with them at lighthouse point. Any thoughts on that vs. eden rock?

Just out of curiosity...has anyone heard of 'Chains', a shore dive on the north side. I've done it a couple of time but wondered if anybody else has been there? It involves an anchor chain hanging down the wall....
