I'm a Fish!
Ok... Its been pretty slow on the board recently. So, I figured this might spark some conversation. This is video of my last ice dive for the season. It was on March 15, 2009. The ice was only an inch or so think. If you watch the video you can see as the dive went on, cracks around the hole increased. This was a great fun dive. Hope you guys enjoy.

First off thanks for sharing.

I do question walking out on thin at first (or ever) without ropes or any flotation devices.

Also I was surprised that you were not using full harnesses, it appears the tethers were just clipped off to some standard D'rings. It did look like everybody was having a good time.

I guess my respect for the water in that particular environment is just a bit different.

Yeah, agree with the walkout! Thats why I video taped the cutting of the hole from the shore! :) Harnesses are available for anyone who want to use them. The tether cannot be clipped off to a single D ring or any plastic D rings. With this group it was acceptable to use two metal D Rings if your BCD is equipped for it and was a decision for the individual diver.

From a video taping standpoint, it was difficult being directly tethered to your buddy diver. I was constantly getting pulled in different directions and was difficult to hold the camera still in the situations.

Interesting stuff!!

Thanx for posting Mike.

Its been a couple years since I've been in Stoney Lake.
Would love to dive it this summer so, hit me up if you are going out there.
Please. :)
