It was the same beautiful dive conditions on the 2nd day with Jupiter Dive Center for mini season. 80° on the bottom 80 ft of viz, & 1.5knt current. I only found 3 lobster today & a handful of lionfish.

When searching holes on the bottom it's not unusual for your bag to get snagged by a rock. Usually I don't even look down at it. I just give a jiggle to free it. But this time the bag yanked me hard backwards. Friggin teenage 5 ft nurse shark was trying to rip apart my bag to get the lionfish inside. I punched him five times to get him to drop it finally. Came up 20 ft off the bottom and he stayed down there looking around on the sand. Now I have to needle and thread the holes closed.

The officer is NOT reading me my rights to remain silent. We got boarded by FWC on the way in. They were fast and all you had to do was dump your bag on the floor & show him your license.

Everyone was legal and no problems. But they still wouldn't play the siren for us. It was a nice 2-day mini-season

If they weren't poaching my bugs, it would be entertaining watch the nurse sharks darting in and out of holes on the ledge

I like the 'No probable cause - No stop' Nice to pass the LEO lined up at the ramp in Boca and not get waved over. But for me the best part of hunting bugs is the hand to hand combat when a bug retreats into a hole and digs in.

Looks like you had the FWC officer- bent over. What was the probable cause for stopping the boat?
Since the law is so new and just a few weeks old, I'm not sure how it reads. We get stopped about 4 times a year and they are always quick and professional. We had 15 hunters on board and the officer was finished in 10 minutes.
