After being available for 5 night stays, then 6, then 7 night minimums over recent years - it finally ended last December, but perhaps they received too much grief as they brought it back for 3 months, ending March 31. It applies to any of the Caribbean, Mexico or Hawaii, but seems to be most popular with Cozumel - so if you want to use it, hurry...!!

You can check air & hotel packages at Orbitz.com or I like to compare vacation packages at Kayak.com first seeing how Orbitz looks against others - then after your final room choice, right below look for the I have a promotion code box and inset 200entertain. This $200 discount is on the room rate, double or single so it really works well for solo travelers.

Looking at my plane ticket @ $496 vs air & private room for a week for $552 & up on hotel chocies - that's $7.71/night including taxes. :eyebrow: Hey, the Bahia and Bazar Colonial both sound nice to me, with low cost upgrades optional.
I really like the Villablanca last year, available to me for $14/night, $24/night for the Superior, or

Hotel Coz might be a fun try for a change: $28.86/night All Inclusive.
Gawd, which bargain do I want? There are 20 other hotels to chose from if you want fancier.

On the next page, you really want to uncheck "Airport Shuttle Service" as it's about much cheaper to do just buy the van ticket on arrival and hail a cab to leave, with no paperwork to keep up with. I doubt that any of the other advance booking options are good ideas either.

Don thanks again for making me aware of this when I booked through Orbitz for this coming May!

Oh crap! You were a few days too late Don. I booked through Orbitz last week. :shocked2:

I am sorry. This is one of the subjects I bring up so often on threads that I figure many people are tired of seeing me bring it up again, alone with the need for DAN or similar dive insurance - and not the cheapest level, separate trip insurance unless you are sure you regular medical insurance will cover you out of country, etc.

Phone Orbitz. Ask them if they can still apply it? It's worth the free call and my one experience with the agents was very helpful.

How can anyone ever get tired of saving money?:D

I emailed Orbitz when I first read your post asking if it's too late to use the promotion code. Waiting to hear back from them.

Nice folks, but they have their rules.

"Thank you for contacting Orbitz.

I understand you wish to apply a discount code on existing reservation.

We are unable to apply coupon discounts after a booking is completed. The coupon must be applied during the booking process."

Bummer. :shakehead:

Oh well, the trip is pretty cheap anyway. :D

Dang, sorry. I do bring it up every time someone asks for travel planning ideas.

It's not your fault. Hopefully someone else will take advantage of it!

Also, if you want to book a package trip for 3 or more days and less than 7 days, try 50ENTERTAIN or a $50.00 savings. It is also good for bookings made by March 31. Travel until December 2011. Every little bit helps !
