So Who is up for a Night dive
24 AUG 2004: Night Dive at Kings Beach Newport. 7:00pm
1900 for us military types.

I have never done any diving in Newport so it sounds good to me.

I got to check my schedule. But for everyone Kings Beach is nice at night and the entry is not very difficult.

I'm not I cant make it I have to work, unfortunatley. But I'll try to make it next week.

I think I am going to have to back out of the dive. I have way too much going on this week. Hopefully things will calm down by next week.

Love to join you guys, but I have to work the eve shift that day. Did my night dive for AOW at King's Beach in '02. Great dive with lots of critters running around(lobsters, crabs, tiny squid?)and good viz. I'd love to get back to Rhody for a dive this year, so I'll keep checking in on the Board. Have fun.

Last night's night dive was excellent. TeriD and I were the only ones who showed, but we picked up a 3rd diver who was going to go solo adn decided to tag along with us. Water temp was 69 degrees, Vis was 12 foot +. Some areas close to 15 feet.
We did a 58 minute dive to about 24-25 feet. Hit the water at 7:20 (1920 for us military types.) The dive was just long enough that we got that great light transition from day-dusk-night.
Saw some good sized flounder out there. A few lobster, no keepers. there were a lot of baitfish on entry and saw few big black fish and some small squid. As we were exiting a couple of guys in a dingy were coing back from fishing and told us there was a seal the other side of the more distant rock and that he'd been there all day playing....too bad we didn't see him on the dive.

So an ideas for the plan for next week? Bueller.....Bueller?

Hmm well tuesday is the last day of my summer so I would be up for that!
