I bet he did. You are correct that you have to play EVERY game on your schedule. But it is human nature to slack off a little if you don't respect your opponent, so players start thinking and playing as though it's a "W" before they even walk on the field. [-]Big[/-] Huge mistake.

I agree with you 100% that to build up something from nothing is a great accomplishment and it is a great feat that cannot be measured. No one can take that away from you.

But I think at a certain point, a HC will need to have all the resources that he/she can get. I am all for Strong to build a dynasty at Louisville but at the same time, I don't believe that Louisville will be able to offer the resources that Strong needs to build a dynasty like a Bear Bryant, Knute Rockne, or John McKay. At this point, it is not about how big the paycheck is anymore but do you have the tools and means to get you where you want to be and realize your vision/grand scheme.

If you disagree, I can respect that, but Louisville is nowhere near offering the type of resources that USC can offer to Strong for him to build a dynasty.

Yes, so Strong is the highest paid coach per your article. But let's get back to your point: Success is not measured by money. Again, I agree 100%. In life, it is all about putting yourself in the best position to succeed. If your goal is to be a chef and own a Michelin starred restaurant in NYC, flipping burgers at Mickey D's won't cut it, but get an apprentice job at Per Se or Roubuchon will certainly bump up your odds tremendously.

If Strong's aspiration is to build a dynasty out in Louisville and only at Louisville, my hat's off to him and I wish him best of luck.

But if his aspiration is to build a dynasty and win NC's and set up himself up in the best situation possible to achieve that, then when schools like USC and Texas come knocking, he'd better give it some serious consideration.

Let me point out that my UCF Knights took USC University of Steve Carolina ur South Carolina into the locker room 10-0.

That USC always to seems to get a bit, shall we say, Cocky?

Of course, I graduated from the High School closest to UCF at the time, which was called FTU (Florida Technological University) back then. Those of us going elsewhere often referred to it as "Bithlo Tech". It's come a long way since then.

UGA - Clemson game was good, but Clemson just plain outplayed UGA. Will be interesting to see how UGA recovers.

Even without our best WR and RB, we're doing okay on offense. Our defensive backfield, however, is a raging dumpster fire of youth and DERP. I think if the defense can bring it together by the end of the season, we could be something special and be in the mix for the MNC.

Florida is looking better with the (frosh?) QB, and I wish we were playing them earlier in the season. Sucks about Easley and Driskell.

Perfect day of football, LSU won, Florida got by the "sisters", Georgia lost (I Hate Georgia), My Huskies beat the Broncos, (Washington under rated this year), and the Cougars as usual Couged it. Perfect.

Damn, I didn't realize so many people hated Georgia. The Gators, Bammers, Barners, and Blue Ticks I understand, but it seems (at least at the surface) like you may be more of a Pac-12 fan (ex: "My Huskies"). Am I wrong? If not, what is it about Georgia that you despise?

Well, it is one thing if you tear an ACL on the field, but on a TD celebration - oh well, I guess that will be a painful lesson (no pun intended) about humility.

It's been a few weeks since I've watched the game/replay, but it looked to me like he jumped once. A lesson in humility, and he jumped once. OK.

I have three teams I follow and cheer for:
1. LSU- born and raised in New Orleans. My mother, also born and raised in New Orleans, and boy that woman held a grudge. I Was not allowed to mention LSU in our home because General William Sherman was President of LSU after the Civil War.
2. The Gators- I was stationed in Jacksonville for several years, participated in several Cocktail Parties, where a hate for Georgia seems to come natural.
3. Huskies - I live right across the sound from Seattle and having had several Engineers from UW and from WAState work for me you really learn the meaning of "Couging it" and naturally lean towards the Dogs.

And last but not least Georgia sucks. I know it is painful but there it is.

I'll still pull for my Gators ..

but UGA is looking pretty good right now. Their defense needs to step it up a notch (ie LSU game) if they expect to get past the SEC Champ game.

Did you type this with a straight face??? The only two good things to ever come out of Georgia was I-95 and I-75.

I finally got to watch the Fl/Ky game last night. Damn! The cats had one moment of brilliance, but they were beat on the first drive. They were so bad that the stadium emptied with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. How embarrassing for them. A couple of things stood out for the Gators. Murphy was amazing with 15/18 passes and only one interception. That he ran the guy down to prevent a TD spoke volumes. I didn't have much confidence in my Gators with Driskel at the helm, but I feel a lot better with Murphy! Here's hoping other defenses get burned messing around with Murphy.

Finally, our defense is downright awesome this year. Look at this from Nobody's Perfect: Not Even Dominant Gators Defense - GatorZone.com. This is going to be huge when they run into some real competition.

FWIW, the Gators now hold the longest current winning streak in the nation and the longest ever in the SEC. Maybe Ky should change their mascot to the Pussy Cats!

27 years is a long time to lose to the same team. KY should forget the money football generates and stick to basketball. Besides, any descent players KY thought they would recruit will now be looking toward Louisville and coach Strong.
