Bob,
could you, please, provide any contact information or name to DAN. We try to follow up on news like this and to get information from investigative agencies, family, medical examiners, witnesses and anybody who has it first hand. DAN treats all information confidential and protects it under HIPPA. My email address is pdenoble@dan.org. Thanks!
Yeah, that's a bummer. But clearly two out of three of these accidents are not diving accidents, and the third one is still unclear (based on the article) as well. Still, if you're in a car wreck on the way to a dive, even though it's not a diving accident, it's just as tragic to the person involved.Wow ... so far in 2010 we've had ...
- a serious diving accident at our local dive park
- a diver dying of a heart attack as he was ending a dive at my local dive site
- a buddy of mine slipping and breaking his leg as he humped his scooter back to his car after the dive
That's all in the first three days of the year!
... Bob (Grateful Diver)
Anyboy heard anything more about the incident yesterday (Saturday January 16th) at Seacrest Cove 2? My parents and future relatives-in-law separately drove past at around noon and said they say the Fire Dept working on a diver on the beach. Prayers that it was just a drill but fear otherwise.
