It was a great day! I decided not to dive due to my lingering cold, and just filmed topside. It was great to get the footage of several of the eight baby octopusses that crawled out of cans, bottles and shells. One was especially interesting as it poked its head out of the bottle, looked around and must have realized the divers surrounding it were friendly because it crawled out of the bottle... all on HDV! I also won a trip with Truth Aquatics out of Santa Barbara... very cool.

Kudos to all those who work so hard to make this event happen.

I talked with a lot of the divers, it seemed the viz was MUCH better than last year. We had over 400 divers, gave away over $30,000 in prizes, the t-shirts were excellent, the awards ceremony went smoothly, and a great time was had by all! Congrats to Dr. Bill and all the other prize winners, and I can't wait till next year.
