I just talked to the campsite and made the first reservation. If you plan on coming and would like to make a reservation (800-622-6052), give them my reservation number (A133957) and reference the "Camp-and-Dive party" so that they keep the group together.

We'll do.
I don't know yet for sure if she'll be there, you know how kids are, but I'll let you know.
If she does come down she'll be driving her own car so that way they can go to Malibu or other places during the day and have fun.

Well I'll recap some then.
Actually I'll start with the last dive I did of the trip where Jonatan and I went north up to a reef off fisk mill.
It was very calm and glassy out there. Jenny went along for the ride because she loves the ocean and boat rides. When we were anchored and getting ready we saw a small pod of northern black porpoises go by. That was cool. Both Jon and I were diving doubles and he was configured pure DIR. I am close to DIR as far as gear goes but don't have any fundies, but never the less it was kind of cool to see the whole concept in action. I've read and investigated enough about it to have a pretty good understanding of what the protocols are.
Our dive lasted about 1 hour 10 minutes and we averaged 55 feet or so. I shot 2 nice reds one of which was huge. We enjoyed cruising all over checking out all the caves and holes. Jon was using his 18 watt HID that was a torch! The ride back to Ocean Cove was fast and smooth because we were going down hill (south). We pulled the boat out and went up to the site for some food and partying.
I guess everyone was beginning to get worried because it was around 8:00 when we finally got in. The whole camp broke out in a thunderous aplause when we walked in.

After all the great food, the sauteed fish eye balls, the drinkin' started and didn't actually stop till about 3 am as I remember it. We ran out of firewood so a group of us went down to the beach to collect drift wood. I remember weaving my way up that steep dirt road laughing and dropping wood. We finally got back to the camp and attempted to get it going with a bottle of EAN 50/50, didn't work like I thought it would. Next time it's gonna be pure O2!
I seriously thought it was going to be an all nighter. If we would have had more dry wood and Jack Daniels I think there's a good chance it would have been. I'm just glad I had the boat out the night before.
Man I can't wait to do it again. It makes me feel young again!

Eric- in reply to your last statement on this thread, you're just as old as the rest of us... young at heart. I am definately going to make it down to SoCal. Once again, I may be one of only a few newbies. There isn't a better group of people I would want to be diving with. Looking forward to seeing all of you again. I'm trying to get Jenny to come and dive this time (see Jenny, now everyone can give you a hard time about coming) ;)

I would comment on Saturday night, but as the only totally sober diver around, I was advised against commenting on that evening by a diver the next morning. So I will be quiet for the most part on the festivities. The food was amazing though.

Hey Justine! u weren't the only sober one there!!! I had to drive home that nite (or morning?) remember. but i'm not gonna say much except I had a great time, there was more food there than I've eaten in probably a year (and a lot better food too!!), the conversation was memorable (though I can't remember everything we actually talked about?), I met a lot of awesome people who all became great friends (even though I was just there for 1 day), and it was well worth going to work with no sleep (and driving to L.A. w/ my eyes half shut ;) ) I'm definately comming next year and I'll try to make it to malibu. thanx zky 4 everything.
