I'm looking for the name and location of a place where it is possible to hit 200' from the shore. I understand it to be Castle (something) can anyone help.
Thanks
Pat B

Castle Hill. its in newport and its not what i would call a beach dive..
parking is a issue, as well as access, its kinda a hike in espically with the gear you need for such a dive

Oh...a typical RI dive. No parking and nasty access! :D

EDITED: Excuse me all of you RI'ers! I was thinking more of Mass. - specifically Cape Anne.

If I recall you only hit about 180.

depending on the tide, and where exctaly you are, you can break 200

it steps down pretty fast there
its a longet walk to ghet there than a swim once your in the water
and its right at the enterance of the bay. so watch the tides, and currents

Can I recommend The Sommes Sound in Acadia Ntl Park in Main.

What yall think?

Soggy, you should check it out..
its a great dive, its not a sheer wall so you can work a depth line and its a good dive for any level of diver, just stay within your personal limits..
its a ruged bottom structure. simmilar to what you see above the water there, and across the channel in jamestown..
basically take weathell, and make it way better
