i compete in the small sport of canine frisbee. during a routine many peopl ehave their dog leap of their hip, thigh, chest,and/or back. It has been suggested to me that i get a "vaulting vest" to protect myself from the dogs nails during one of these tricks. while shopping around i found many different vests varying in price and thickness. while the most accesable vest is available from one of the sponsor's websites for $60 and is made of 5 mm neoprene... i have found cheaper prices but the vests arent as thick, the thinnest being 2mm. Not knowing much about what good the thickness of neoprene is i figure scuba divers would have some good advice since wetsuits are essentially the vest i need with more material. Should i stick with the 5 mm vest or would a 2mm work just as good?

Well I have a 3 mill and a 5 mill vest and I think I would feel the dogs claws easily through the 3 min. The 5 mill makes a huge dif and I think it wouldn't hurt at all.
