CD...you're gonna love the philippines...i havent been since 2000 but its awesome. I have friends and family (god daughter) there and its one of the most beautiful hospitable countries i've ever been too. Definitely check out Palawan if you have the time. Hopefully by now El Nido isn't too touristy and if it is try Coron. Everyone says go to Boracay and i'm sure its played out and built up like crazy now but the beach there is really something. I had a blast in Bacolod as well. Since I"m new to diving I can't help you out much with that part but trust me on this one....GET OUT OF MANILA...FAST. You need an iron lung to survive more than a few days in that city. It's a cool place to party but that's about it the rest of the Phils is gorgeous. you'll love it...have a great time.
