Just a little more help ... Liz mentioned the great guide for shore diving. The full name is Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy (BSDME). Check out the author's website www.bsdme.info or look for the guide on island.

Thanks for all the info. Herman, we will be there 7/28 to 8/4. Sorry we'll miss you. I always enjoy your posts and would love to meet you. Piikki, thanks for the info, hopefully it will not be an issue when we're there, but I'll dive lopsided if I have to.

Thanks for the report. It is not going to help me make it through the next 2 weeks though. I cant wait.

Since it was my first trip to Bonaire, I think it was a good idea to do some boat dives, and as others pointed out, some dives like on Klein, need a boat. Plus I got to meet people I otherwise wouldn't have. The dive masters had some good information about the critters and such.
We did a hald day kayak trip to the Mangroves through BDA, and also did our own across to Klein to play on the beaches there and snorkel - saw 2 turtles going by while snorkeling.
And yes, I got to get back and find that seahorse!

Buc Chick,

Bonaire Dive and Adventure is a great shop...they will do everything they can to accommodate your needs...I was there two weeks ago and there was plenty of space in the drying rooms and more weight than you could ever need. Because my buddy and I had already used them before, they gave us an expedited review of the operation and we were in the water getting our check-dives ASAP.

I actually had a weight pouch fall out of my BC on the first dive of the trip at the house reef Bari (long story) and when I went back to the shop a few days later one of the divers had found it and returned it! I was thrilled to get it back.
If you do dive Klein I highly recommend using Vitze (sp) he is a top-notch dive master and will point out all sorts of critters you'd never see on your own...well worth the $25

Den Laman is a beautiful place that is very well run and is a far superior accommodation than a few of the more expensive hotel-type resorts further south. I am so jealous you get in July.

Post Bonaire Depression is just now settling in,

Nate
