This coming weekend we are going to be taking our certification dives. I am wondering where would be some good 1st dive places to go to that aren't to far from home, and obviously sites that aren't to deep. We live in Appleton Wisconsin. We are thinking on heading up to Sturgeon Bay/Door County area. Anyone?

Thanks,

~Joe~

I would send you to the Fleetwing wreck,up near Gills rock, its not a bad drive for you,and this wreck-whats left is a fun shore dive, park allong
the road-Garretbay road, take 42 North to Garretbay road and go to boat ramp=launch,
look out for poison ivy on road side! walk down the stone beach, you will see the WHS martime sing that points to the wreck, several soap jugs mark the sections, its 15'20' water is like a bathtub, viz is 50'+ most of the time, the wreck has several sections and is a fun safe dive!
Have fun man, dont dive with out a dive bud! some time take a look at my photos, some of the fleetwing I took This 4th July.
good luck on class, and sometime you may come down and do a dive with us!
Brad

Awsome, thanks for all the info Brad. Dont worry I have a full time dive buddy :) (we're in class together and hey we live together to lol). I would never dive alone, to many things can go wrong.
