You may well be right. Or, the articles also said he did not want to be specific and give too much information to protect the location from other divers. This guy sounds like a real asset to the diving community that he makes his living from, so the 150’ may well be intentional misinformation.The articles I read seem to vaguely suggest around 150ft.
Knowing the depth of water in that general area, I would not be surprised if the depth is closer to 130-140’, not that it matters, other than the depth being a key piece of detail to help locate the wreck.
If I do get to dive that wreck this year, as is my intention, I will write up a trip report here on SB. How often is a Submarine wreck discovered in the U.S. at a divable depth.
