Soggy,

I totally agree, and have just replace most of my gear that I purchased in July. With that said, he defined his needs pretty well and didn't talk about U/W cave.

Course, I should have stated that I've never been close to a cavern, so don't know squat about em and their lighting requirements :11ztongue

I went straight to a 18 watt when i bought a big light for tech diving. I use a helios 13.5 with the 18 watt head i got off ebay. Every time i turn it on i realize it was money well spent, and it pays for itself everytime i go below 200 feet. 18 watt lights are really expensive but it shames my friends 10 watt lights, and i thank myself when i use it, if you can afford it, or save up, or sell something, or do anything to make the extra money buy the big watt light, you won't be dissapointed. Just be carefull, the bulbs are VERY expensive, as well as everything else that a flood would destroy, ive never had to buy a bulb but im pretty careful with it out of the water. Again, they are expensive, but worth the money especially if your doing tech diving.
