#18 or #24 Line for SMB?

Interested to see the answers here as I was going back and forth. As I actually was also looking for some line to fill up a reel with a fair amount.

Difficult to find locally so I found some on Amazon. #18 Braided Nylon Mason Line. From what I read that is the right type?
 
The line you have available. Its not really an important property for this application. Either is more than strong enough. A #24 will have more drag and catch more water so you will feel any current slightly more than on a #18, but it would seldom be of any importance.
 
Typically, just for the 15 foot safety stop. Possibly deeper in the event of an irregularity that ends the dive.

I don’t think the weight of the line matters with this depth in mind.
