Sitting here in my hotel room reflecting on the past day.

Played victim all morning for a Rescue class and then out on a boat for an Open Water class I have been assisting with as well.

That first Open Water dive was my 100th dive.

I had been thinking that this would be anti climatic since this was just a shallow first training dive for Open Water students.

The smiles on their faces and high fives they were giving actually made it a very special dive.

We meet again at 7:30 in the morning for their Open Water dives, 3 and 4. Will probably be done by 11 or 12. Then I'll pack up, hit the road and be home in time for kickoff!

Congratulations, I made sure that my 100th dive was something special though, helping at a class was not going to fit into my criteria for that dive … but then it's only a number :D

Hey Searcaigh,

I completely understand your sentiment. I had already turned down an offer to dive a local lake dive. I had thought I would do it at Point Lobos, but it just didn't work out that way.

So, I have to fall back to the "It's only a number"

Keep up the good work!

As was my 1,000th …. best made plans go asunder ….had a great dive but as I had planned to meet up with some other friends who ended up not making it so I ended up diving with an instabuddy … he is an instructor though and we polished off a bottle of rum later …. another story ;)

Anyway, celebrate each 100 :D

You know, I don't count training dives in my log count. But if I did... working an OW class marked by "smiling faces and high-fives" would be a pretty good way to mark a milestone.

Congrats - on both the dive and the attitude!

Congratulations on the milestone. Mine was a usual shallow pretty boring Nova Scotia shore dive. In 16 months I will most likely finally reach 500 ("God willing", which I hear more & more of at my age). Think I'll "slow down" a little then. This dive is scheduled to be a usual shallow pretty boring Nova Scotia shore dive. But hey, you never know.

I made the 100th on my last dive trip. In the Bahamas from the AquaCat. There were 4 or 5 of us on that trip to reach 100 dives. It was a good dive, nothing special about the dive itself but none the less memorable.

Congratulations!

Now, time to get the Queso put together and watch some pregame activities. Hoping to watch a great game!

I still remember my 100th dive. I decided at that point I had enough experience that I was ready to start shopping for a camera! Went out with a bunch of folks afterwards to celebrate. Enjoy!
