Tommy - also let me know how your time works doing the 2 dives and how much time you have to get back to the ship. I would really like to do a Dolphin adventure but I don't want to be too pressed. Alison has been wonderful to work with - are you taking your own gear or using hers?

Docc - have you ever used her gear? I hate to haul everything for just the one day.

Oh poor Howard, settling for Hawaii. What part? The first time I snorkeled was in Hawaii which led to me signing up for scuba lessons. I look forward to going back one day and diving there, but the Carribbean is just so much easier to get to.

Which part? As many as I can. This time of year we will probably do west coast. We have a divemaster and former resident of Oahu who is digging up some old contacts. We shall see. Just got back from Korea, so my nights and days are a little switched up still.

Tommy - please let me know how things go when you get back. I had lunch today with someone that went on the Fantasy maiden voyage from Mobile but it was the longer route and they were delayed due to Ida. She had a great time and said the ship was wonderful. Have fun!

The cruise went great. Mobile Port Authority seems to have the bugs worked out after getting a larger ship. Both embark and debark were easy. Loved the ship. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The Fantasy will be in Mobile until March, then it goes to Charlotte. The Elation will replace her in Mobile. She is also a Fantasy Class vessel, but she hasn't yet had the Fun Ship upgrades that other have. Maybe Elation will be upgraded prior to sailing from Mobile.

Alison has a top-notch operation. Very accommodating to cruise ship schedules. We met her at Caleta Marina for 9:30 am, and we returned by 2:30 pm. We made our first dive at Palancar Caves, and our second dive at Tormentos Reef. Both were excellent. They bring your gear rigged and ready to you on the side of the boat, they change your bottles, and hand it to you at the end of the dive. She takes no more than 8 people, and you have 2 divemasters with you in the water at all times.

Tommy - glad you had a good time and got home safely. We are really excited about the trip - we leave next Thursday, 12/10. I keep hearing nothing but wonderful things about Alison and her guys.

How was the rental gear? Did you have any problems getting the taxi's, etc? Sounds like we can do a lunch before returning to the ship and that will be nice.

Appreciate your info!

If any other scubaboarders go on this, let me know. Maybe we can make diving arrangements together. I'm booking privately in Coz with Alison. I've used her before and was happy. I booked privately before in Belize and Roatan and was happy, but this time I planning to try to ship's offering since I heard good things from those that did use the ship excursions in those ports.

Hi Pam, I also replied to your post on cruise critic. My wife and I are on the same cruise and will be diving all three ports. We're using the ship's booking for Belize and Roatan, but using Blue Angel in Cozumel. Looks like we'll be diving together in Belize and Roatan.

Great! Look forward to meeting ya'll. There is a chance I'll have to cancel because my dad was just diagnosed with lung cancer.
