Good Dives Last Night.
Van Zandt Pier and Ledge Rd.
Big Group this week. Teri, Tim, Eric, James, Pete, Chris, Mat and Myself.
went into the water at about 7:15pm Did a nice 51 minutes dive. Water temp was 66 Vis 6feet when not swim through someones dust cloud. Max depth 28 feet. The bottom off of Van Zandt Pier is loose packed silt once you get off the shell beds. Lots of Squid. Saw 2 horse sho crabs. Even found a small lobster stuffed into a discarded Ice cream sundae glass.
Did our second dive at Ledge Rd. Mat, Chris, Teri and I. We hit the water at roughtly 9:25pm Did a 55 minute dive to 36 feet. Vis was 4 foot due to moderate surge. Saw lots of lobster and crabs. Some squid around on that dive too. Saw a good sized green eel, my first eel sighting of the year.
All and All two good dives. Just too compare and contrast work load...first dive I only burned 1000psi, second dive with the surge I burned 1500psi.
Only bad point was the newport parking Nazi's nailed us with tickets for where we parked on Ledge Rd.
Next week is tight for me with classes and the RWU scuba club meeting. so whoever wants to take the lead for next week, go gor it.
