01Sep04: Night Dive in Newport

How about a night dive out a Van Zandt Pier, Newport?
7:00pm (1900 for us military types). Need to check on the tides, if current to swift at that time we can go out to Lands End and Dive there.

What say ye?

and as a reminder international talk like a pirate day is sep 19th we sound plan a Pirate dive.

John the club dive has got off the ground yet and I dont have a date yet. Still working on that. But I am defiently up for this dive off the Peir.

So if I were to guess that Van Zandt Pier is at the end of Van Zandt Ave in Newport would this result in my arrival at the dive site, or would I find myself very lonely when I show up to dive Wednesday?

Roger that. As you come off the bridge take the scenic newport exit. Take a right at the end of the ramp. take the right at the light onto van zant....best bet for parking is to take the first right on van zant then the next left. follow all the way down to the water and park there. can't miss Van Zant pier. I am meeting some folks at the dive shop but we should be there between 6:30 and 7:00.
