Stay Away from Florida Keys Dive Center

Just stay away, far away! Florida Keys Dive Center of Islamorada is a horrible dive operator. They jam divers onto their boats like sardines, with zero room to set up/store gear. I understand they are trying to make money, but there is no reason to stuff twenty five (25) divers onto a...

Anna Maria Island - Shore Diving Friday

I'm planning on doing a shore dive on Anna Maria Island this Friday 3/30. I've found a few fossilized bones so far while snorkeling and expect to find more during the dive. It is a shallow dive M/D 20', on a natural reef. Parking is free and the entry is easy, with little to no current. If...

Diving question for St. Pete/Venice area

I may be moving down to the St. Pete/Venice area and I'd like to know what kind of diving I'd be in for. I've heard about the meg tooth diving in low viz. Are there any other opportunities to dive in the area? I'm interested in shore dives that allow decent viz and marine life to be seen...

    Dry Suit Zipper???

Hello, I have a DUI CF200. My zipper is starting to leak at the rubber boot on the bottom of the zipper (where it shuts). Has anyone else experienced this type of slight leak? Have any suggestions for how to stop the leak? I've tried to add wax to the boot to see if it would seal, no luck...

    Scallops

The scallops are still out there. I haven't been out scallop diving on the Northshore for a while. I decided to head out and see if there were any scallops left on the beds. Yes, they are still out there in numbers, between the 3 of us we got around 400-450 scallops. Yes, we were diving by...

Near misses and learned lessons may be the appropriate forum for this info but I wanted it to be read by as many divers as possible. While conducting an Advance Open Water class today we had an incident during the deep dive portion of the class. We had a student panick to the point of being...

What should be done with unconcious diver at depth?

What is the best course of action if I encounter an unconscious diver at depth? My gut tells me to inflate the person's BCD and shoot them to the surface. No worries about lung over expansion but they may have an embolism. I figure this is better than a slow ascent and drowning. Please...
