Stay Away from Florida Keys Dive Center

By showing up at a dive op at 7:30am prior to other customers arriving I do not see the relevance to it being a holiday weekend. This would surely matter at 8:30 or 9 once other customers showed up at the dive op.

Stay Away from Florida Keys Dive Center

I was only going to post one last time but this brilliant comment deserves a response. It is obvious by your comment that you some how feel that you (the employee) are in competition with me (the customer). This is not a win or lose situation, there is only information provided. I've made my...

Stay Away from Florida Keys Dive Center

I wanted to wait a few days to view the broad spectrum of comments. It is obvious the jerk from FKDC was the first one to comment on this post. Again, I showed up more than an hour before the boat left the dock, there may have been 3 or 4 customers at the shop total, with zero line at the...

Stay Away from Florida Keys Dive Center

Just stay away, far away! Florida Keys Dive Center of Islamorada is a horrible dive operator. They jam divers onto their boats like sardines, with zero room to set up/store gear. I understand they are trying to make money, but there is no reason to stuff twenty five (25) divers onto a...

    Pancake sanddollars, where are they?

The beaches on Treasure Island are loaded with both living and bleached sand dollars. They are at least 6" but some are bigger. I'd say they are in 6-8' of water, and seem to be everywhere along the beach. You can park in any of the public parking lots along the beach (don't forget to pay...

Planning on diving Anna Maria Friday morning. Haven't picked which dive yet, possibly the wreck or the third pier. If anyone wants to dive let me know.

Anna Maria Island - Shore Diving Friday

I'm planning on doing a shore dive on Anna Maria Island this Friday 3/30. I've found a few fossilized bones so far while snorkeling and expect to find more during the dive. It is a shallow dive M/D 20', on a natural reef. Parking is free and the entry is easy, with little to no current. If...

Snorkling with whales in Silver bay

Has anyone gone snorkling with humpback whales in the Silver Bay, to the North of Dominican Republic? I've wanted to go for a while, but am having trouble finding liveaboards. Thanks

Can anyone recommend a decent spear fishing charter out of the St. Pete area? Thanks

Almost went into deco off Islamorada

This thread brings up a common misconception. It is drilled into a divers head from day one that going into deco automatically leads to trouble. Should you avoid going into deco? Absolutely. But if you notice you've slipped a minute into deco, end your dive as you normally would. Your...

    Belize or Nassau?

I went with Aqua Cat last November. The weather was perfect, and the diving conditions were excellent. They offer a few shark feeds, so you have to chance to be mixed in with a dozen or so Blacktips. I was also, lucky enough to come face to face with a 10' hammerhead. The positive side is...

    Liveaboard vs. Bonaire

You know what a trip to Bonaire will be; relaxing, leisurely, crystal clear water. A liveaboard trip regardless of where it is will allow you to experience new things. Whether you go on the cheaper Blackbeards, moderate Sail Juliet, or high end Aquacat you'll experience dives you could only...

Japanese tourist killed by boat prop off of Phuket

Whenever I am operatoring a vessel I either know the location of my divers and manuever or I don't start the engine. There is no excuse for moving your vessel if you don't know where every diver is, especially if they are scattered around your vessel. Any details that come out will not excuse...

    flounder and lobsters?

Anyone have any luck hunting in Cape Ann yet? I've been out twice in the last week, saw one short flounder and a few short lobsters. Anyone catch anything for the dinner table yet?

Diving question for St. Pete/Venice area

I may be moving down to the St. Pete/Venice area and I'd like to know what kind of diving I'd be in for. I've heard about the meg tooth diving in low viz. Are there any other opportunities to dive in the area? I'm interested in shore dives that allow decent viz and marine life to be seen...

    Dry Suit Zipper???

I have checked with DUI. They say to send the suit in to get fixed. I've already replaced the zipper once about 11 months of use. They put a new zipper in for free. The same thing happend then. The rubber boot stretches out and allows a slight trickle of water in. It is a design flaw. I'm...
