    Tulum Dive shop recommendations

Were you staying at Dreams? I'll be there for my wedding week. I'm thinking of using them. Kind of take a lot of the work out of getting dives in, since they are on property.

BREAKING NEWS: David Swain Wins Appeal Against Murder Conviction

I'm not sure what the legal standard is in the BVIs, but, speaking as an attorney, I don't think that an entity that would revisit an murder issue based on a wrongful death verdict (negligence), demonstrates a well-oiled legal machine down there in the BVIs. That can't be what happened, is all...

    Buddy OOA in Challenging Conditions

Wow, Lisa, I'm glad you and Tish are okay! Wish Derek and I had been there with you. (We know how much of an air hog you are!) jk. :) In my view, the most important thing is that you did not panic. I know that you were not taking risks because I know how you dive. You used that good head...

Jan 2011 -- who will be in Cozumel?

I am sure that they are great. I've read really good things about them. I just don't like a business entity making a statement on their website that is inaccurate. I almost relied on that statement to my detriment. Just my two cents.

Jan 2011 -- who will be in Cozumel?

I called Aldora divers because we arrive on January 7 at 230 p.m. I was informed that the guaranteed day of arrival diving is not really a guarantee if you arrive after 230 p.m. -- That is, unless you have four people to go out. Keep that in mind if you go to their website. Is anyone going to...

My 100th dive takes me to La Jolla Shores.

August 14, 2010 76 feet. Air Temp 65 Low Water temp 51 degrees. 5 mil wetsuit, 16 lbs, gloves, hood. Struggle a bit through the surf (not used to it) then back kick out to orange mooring ball in front of lifeguard tower #30. Takes a while to get out there. I drop down at the ball then...

Anyone intersted in diving the Yukon on August 12th, 2010?

to tell the truth, I just read one of my old sucbadiving mags which talked about the yukon and the ruby e. it's just that I saw a trip schedule to the yukon and the point loma kelp beds which looked good to me. in the next couple of weeks i'll reserve my spot. drop me a line if you're...

Anyone intersted in diving the Yukon on August 12th, 2010?

I could use a buddy. I've been keeping on eye on divebums and power scuba, but I don't know how that is going to pan out. e.g. power scuba is chartering the lois ann the day before I go back. Anyway, the Lois Ann has a Yukon and 2 kelp dives on August 12th that I was thinking about doing...

In San Diego, Looking to do some diving

How was the temp on the kelp dive, if you remember? I'm curious because I plan to be there in mid August. I dove catalina a couple of years ago and I was fine with my 5 mil, hoods and gloves. I'm wondering if its comparable????

    Vandenberg -- a few observations

You are right, I thought that after I posted it and saw where it ended up, I didn't mean for it to end up in Wreck Exploration and Expeditions. I don't know how to move it now.

    Vandenberg -- a few observations

YouTube - Keys 2009 Wreck Video 1.avi I made a video of the Vandenberg dive. Kind of a a creative outlet side hobby. Also has a reef dive and footage on the Duane.

    Vandenberg -- a few observations

you are probably right, about the orientation. on 12-5, there were boats on all the buoys until right before the storm blew in. it would have been nice to drift the wreck, but it wouldn't have worked on that day because of the winds and waves that day. I assumed it was north south because the...

    Vandenberg -- a few observations

We went with Captain's corner. I had used them before and I like them. (I left my fins on the boat in '07 and they shipped them back to me, on a promise that I would pay them back for shipping.) As a practicality, their boat, the Sea Eagle, is 60 foot boat, which is a good thing to be on if the...

    Vandenberg -- a few observations

First of all this is an outstanding dive. I've done the Oriskany, the Spiegel Grove, the Duane, the Bibb, the Aguila in Roatan, and a mine sweeper (forgot the name) in Cancun and can tell you that this wreck is amazing, even in its infancy. Here is a tip that will be useful. If you find...

The Oriskany Suffered Damage During Hurricane/tropical storm Ida

i went on ediving and did the Duane a few times before doing it for real on 12-4. I think it helped. I would recommend it. Kind of surreal -- gives you a deja vu sense on the real dive. wish they had the vandenberg up before we went!

    Oriskany?

I dove it last year about this time. It's a long ride out there from Gulf Shoals--26 miles--more than 2 hours. It's pretty cool though. I think that to really get the most of the experience you'd have to do a tech dive and get below the deck. Why? because all you can do is the...
