    Lost Indonesian Submarine

yeah im not suggesting just grab some holiday maker and send them down. but surely there must be some trained navy divers for that. and yeah if it was China or Russia then keeping secrets and subterfuge are rife but a 40 year old submarine for a small countries navy is hardly cutting edge...

    Lost Indonesian Submarine

true but the sub sank somewhere off of Bali so it would be quicker to get a boat full of divers out to assess the area until the heavy duty stuff gets there. good point i didnt really think of that. but then tec divers could go down assess what that object or part is and as harsh as it sounds...

thanks for the reply. I read those from the search function before posting this thread. neither thread says anything in depth about zenobia or anything at all about any dive sites other than the zenobia wreck

    Cyprus dive sites

hi, i have 2 questions, i am off to Cyprus in September for 8 days to dive the Zenobia and would like to know from those who have done it how many dives they would recommend to do on it as it is such a big wreck. secondly are there any other good dive sites around the area? the dive operaters...

Happy to always dive advanced within recreational limits, forever ? [Poll]

same as above. don't mind going into light deco. have done on a couple of occasions but i don't think i will ever go technical for 2 reasons: 1 - too expensive. the gear i have now cost me enough and having to get all new gear for tech would be exciting and fun albeit too much for me to afford...

    Mildly regretting a dive?

this is a really interesting thread and i am enjoying reading it. as for me i have had lots of testing/not to plan dives or boat rides where i feel seasick but never regretted them as they are learning curves and i like to think they make me a better diver as you learn more when things go...

    Can’t breathe !!

hmmm well a wetsuit needs to not be too loose otherwise it flushes but it shouldn't be uncomfortably tight. anything else you can tell us. do you still have the reg in when you struggle, does it stop when you take it out, do you calm down when you get to the side of the pool?

    Can’t breathe !!

Hi, it could be a number of things. the 2 that come to mind: 1. is your wetsuit too tight? (i once surfaced in a wetsuit that was too tight and could barely breath, had to unzip it before exiting the water as i thought i was going to pass out) 2. is your BCD/Wing fully inflated? if not then...

    Dangerous divers, redux

in my limited experience i have dived with people better than me and with people i would deem to be at a lower level experience wise (i don't think worse than me is necessarily accurate). i've seen divers do things that i would deem not correct or spaff through air like its going out of fashion...

    7 Wonders of the world

hey all, so i am a big history nerd and was a bit bored and doing some reading on my lunch break and was reading about the 7 ancient wonders of the world, which then lead to the 7 wonders of the medieval world, modern world etc etc. there are so many lists and 1 of them was 7 natural wonders of...

    Lessons Most frightening moments

and if you found him 30 seconds or a minute later it could have been a lot worse. you acted and saved his life. more than his DM was prepared to do. its natural to feel you could have done more or should have done more. that is human nature but all the training in the world doesn't prepare...

    looking for semi dry recommendations

i don't know about the pinnacle polar 8 but i have a buddy who dives in the nova scotia and says its the best suit he ever owned. good warmth for UK diving, good flexibility and durable. his word plus all the reviews on simply scuba mean i am saving up for one myself

How bad was this thing I did? (2nd dive ever)

me and my original buddy both got go pros after our AOW. i used my camera when i see something and secure it to my BCD when not using it while my buddy never puts it down and sometimes has to be given a whack cause he is too busy messing around with the camera to see the instructor/guide asking...

    Bad buddies...

i actually seriously considered giving up diving due to bad buddy experiences. ironically it was diving with instructors and insta buddies that changed my mind. it was my regular buddy who i trained with that pushed me to the edge. i was constantly chasing and looking after him and i got no...

Etiquette on carrying a knife during dives

a knife wouldn't stop a shark and wouldn't be a wise move anyway. so i suggest if you see a shark, stab your buddy in the leg and swim to safety haha

How do you find dive boats/trips when traveling?

i usually ask my LDS if they or their members have been to the area, on a couple of occasions they have known the area and given me good recommendations. if they don't know or haven't been then i look on here or trip advisor
