Crane Day 2020 - Tobermory, Ontario, Canada - 4K Time lapse

Pretty neat, do they just leave the boats parked in the parking lot over the winter season then?

    Welland 2018

I went there on June 22th and it was warmer than that. Can't recall the exact temperature but I think it was closer to 20. I noticed the lines were a bit harder to find than I remember before and one of them I followed wasn't tied to anything so I am not sure if that line got broken or what...

Questions About Innerkip Quarry Trout Lake Dive

Seems like a waste to only do one dive there. I do two tanks when I go, hell you could even do more. You're paying to enter, doing one dive isn't really worth the effort. You can definitely stretch it to two dives to see all the sites. Not sure if there really is a best summer month. It's a...

How To Dive Welland Scuba Park?

No, you do not need to have any to my knowledge. I did not use one except during my OW checkout dives, but that was just so that the divemasters knew where the students were.

How To Dive Welland Scuba Park?

It's a pretty simple place. You really just go straight out from the dock area, you'll find a line, you follow the line around to all the sites. That would be one dive, and then the swing bridge would be another. The swing bridge is probably too far away from the other sites to do both in a...

Slinging a 40cf pony on a BCD without many D rings

Good point, I'll have to make sure it can hold the weight. It seems fairly rigid and secure enough to support it but I'll definitely have to test it and see. I know it's not going to be the ideal BCD for this kind of thing, but just something to make it work until I have the money for a bp/w.

Slinging a 40cf pony on a BCD without many D rings

That's a good point. I took a closer look at my BCD and it looks like I actually do have a D-Ring on the bottom right of the BCD (in the picture it's on the left side on the bottom, kind of folded over in that picture). The tank is out for hydro, but I believe I'll be able to successfully use...

    Tobermory this summer

Riding off what dfx said I personally would say to go with the 7mm. Going less than that and you'll find less enjoyment on some of the dives that aren't really considered "deep" but are kind of riding on the border of becoming deeper and colder. When I went there my deepest dives were 81 and 71...

    White Water Kayaking Ontario

I've never really done any kayaking in rapids but I am sure you could find some good instructions online for the basics and go out and practice in a less fast moving area and progress up to something more intense. You may also be able to find some clubs or group run events out there to go to.

Slinging a 40cf pony on a BCD without many D rings

Haha a cheapskate is definitely what I am doing. Trying to advance my scuba diving safety while on a student budget, not an easy task unfortunately :(

Slinging a 40cf pony on a BCD without many D rings

Yeah I want to eventually switch to a bp/w so I think my best bet is to sell my current bcd and upgrade to a bp/w setup.

Slinging a 40cf pony on a BCD without many D rings

I have this BCD here (see image below): I am looking to get a 20cf or 40cf tank to sling as a bailout tank but I'm not sure the best way to mount them with my BCD. I'd like to sling it like I see Dale doing on this post here: Pony bottle mounting options? Given that I really don't have any...

    Question On ScubaSwap 2017

Are you not planning to stay over? That is a long drive to make both ways in one day as well as attend the Scuba swap?

    Reservist Diver?

It's pretty hard to get into these kinds of specialized positions when dealing with the army/navy. Usually A LOT of people will apply for it making it incredibly hard to get in unless you really are exceptional. The general consensus I hear is that you should join the army with the idea of...

    Tough Mudder

Where would you work? The ones I have done I just have gone through a shallow stream and at the end into a pit of water. Where is a rescue diver required? Even if there is a body of water wouldn't someone like a lifeguard be all that is used?

Any deployed US Navy: w/ Gear?

By the sounds of it he is asking if it is possible for his son, to bring his dive gear who will be working onboard an American navy ship. I believe the non-officers normally share spaces and they are pretty limited. I am not sure what their storage situation is like, however I guess that is what...

Looking for a buddy in GTA to practice buoyance/accustomed to new gear

I understand the not wanting to wait around. I could get a couple dives in within a couple hours, whereas if I go dive with one of the Toronto clubs you're looking at spending at least 3-4 hours to get in the same amount of diving. Not only is it because they dity dadle more, but they also will...

    ACUC nothamerica closedACUC is

I trained with a club, and did not want ACUC certification at all, would have rathered one of the major groups. I knew ACUC was basically dead. If you can barely turn up a couple google search results about something you know it's barely known. I just accepted getting ACUC for cheap because I...

I am ACUC OW certified, glad that I went with a shop and got SDI AOW. I still haven't got my OW card from them, however I already have my AOW card. Kinda silly.
