Yeah, hard to speculate since we don't know how often they're transmitting anyway. If it was on the order of seconds, then sync would be less likely but if it's on the order of milliseconds, it'd be far more likely. Whatever the case, I don't remember a dive where they both worked for the...
I imagine transmitters are subject to regulation since failure to report an accurate pressure could mean the difference between life and death on a dive.
Just received this email from Shearwater today.
Just an FYI (I can't complain about this when there are thousands and thousands of workers furloughed or working without pay).
But on a side note, I still find it hard to believe that they went with technology that can't handle collisions from a...
Lost: Hollis F1 Fins at Redondo Beach, CA
I checked the surf reports and 1-2' didn't sound so bad. Getting in was cake but nothing could have prepared me for the set of tsunamis that came in while I was trying to get out.
At a little less than knee deep, I couldn't exactly duck under the...

Just to echo what others have said, always rinse and dry the housing when you can (don't ever leave it in the rinse bucket).
As far as changing batteries/lenses, as long as you give it a good fresh water rinse I wouldn't worry too much about letting it sit for a while before opening it. Just...
Two strobes for macro can work very well, just make sure you don't overdo the second strobe otherwise your images will become flat and uninteresting :)
If you're storing them, then you're not diving often enough! ;)
All kidding aside ..
1) When storing for longer periods of time, you can remove the o-rings, throw them in ziplock bags, and then store the bags inside whatever they belong to. (I'm not convinced this is necessary but it doesn't...
I'm currently shooting an E-M1 with the Panasonic 8mm fisheye and Olympus 60mm macro in a Nauticam housing.
1. The autofocus speed of the E-M1 is great and I've never noticed any shutter lag.
2. I'm so happy with the Panasonic 8mm fisheye that I haven't even considered taking my Olympus 7-14mm...
I'm not familiar with the Coolpix, but are you talking about "compression" as in some sort of lossless compression option or just simple RAW vs. JPEG compression?
fwiw, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrR7-NuEvQ4 is interesting to watch ... probably not a big enough of a difference for most people to warrant getting the higher capacity cells, and he doesn't test them until they're dead so who knows which one lasts longer.
