Why not more fear of Tiger Sharks?

I believe what you are thinking of is Sand Tiger sharks. Sand Tigers on the US east coast are known to be very docile, often encountered on shipwrecks, unconcerned about divers, and a photographer's ideal subject. However, travel to Australia (where they are known as Gray Nurse sharks) or...

    Best Bonaire shore diving sites

Definitely check out Tori's Reef, Windsock, Corp. Meiss, and The Lake. Klein Bonaire sites are nice too, if you are doing boat diving. That's my recommendation, at least... ;)

Greetings! I did a Costa Rica itinerary back in 2004. I'd be happy to share any information I have!

    Just got my OW Cert.

The concoction I have always heard about and used myself is 1/3 vinegar, 1/3 rubbing alcohol, 1/3 peroxide. You may want to check with your ENT before using any homemade concoctions for your ears. Good luck!

    2011 Trip - anyone interested?

I have been on a liveaboard before, but not this particular liveaboard or this destination. Here is what I know: The Aqua Cat goes to a chain of islands in the Bahamas called Exuma. This is a stretch of about 350 mostly uninhabited islands southeast of Nassau. The boat has a 28' launch to...

    2011 Trip - anyone interested?

Michelle and I are in the early stages of planning a trip on the Aqua Cat liveaboard in the Bahamas, sometime in 2011. While this will not be an official CASA club trip (unless the dive & travel committee is interested in getting involved), we would welcome anyone who cares to join us. Dates...

    Bubble noise

Welcome aboard! Swimming horizontally in the water rather than vertically or diagonally will be the best way to fix this. Also, some regs have vents that push the exhaust further down and back on from your mouth. If you are exploring equipment solutions, there are some new (not vintage)...

Liveaboard - Aqua Cat vs. Explorer

Hey folks... The wife and I are planning a trip to celebrate a big event next year. We have decided on going with a Liveaboard, but need some help from people familiar with the destinations and operations. The front-runners for this trip are the Aqua Cat and the Southern Bahanas. The...

    CASA President's Picnic - Sunday, August 3

Hey folks! If you weren't at the meeting this month and haven't read this month's newsletter, you may not be aware the CASA President's Picnic is scheduled for Sunday, August 3 at Pearl Lake. I am aiming to start festivities around 10:00 am. This is a non-diving event with a perfectly good...

For Michelle who left us May 17, 2003 Diving Farnsworth

Mrs. Davies - I remember reading your daughter's story years ago, and since promised to leave a tolken on the reefs of Belize, I have done so on every trip I have made since. Your message is not lost on me. My wife and I are avid divers, and safety is always first on our minds...

    Creation vs. Evolution

You, on the other hand, are bending your literal interpretation only when the facts that can be argued against it are in your opinion irrefutable. There is no solid firmament, therefore they must have been using "colorful language" to describe that part, but the rest of the story actually...

    Creation vs. Evolution

No, you didn't. I did. However, you did explain the argument about what is meant by "firmament" as the sky being described in "all kinds of colorful ways." I am simply putting forth the not-so-far-reaching argument that most things in the bible are described in "all kinds of colorful ways."...

    Creation vs. Evolution

Interesting. So, too, I would say, has the creation of the world, the beginning of mankind, the freat flood, the crossing of the Red Sea, some obscure wedding that ran out of wine, a crowd that really liked eating fish and bread, etc..... However, every time someone tries to explain that as...

    Creation vs. Evolution

Born and raised Catholic here. Spent 5 years in the Catholic Seminary system. Walked away from the whole deal for my own reasons... That said, you are incorrect. The official Catholic teaching is that the stories in the bible are Truth, but are not necessarily Fact. The Bible is to be...
